BIG NEWS: What a show! What a ballroom! What a crowd!
JKATS with Jeff and Tommy Vee were so well received at the 49th annual Fifties in February* weekend at the legendary Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 that they were asked to play again the next night on the main stage in a cameo appearance during the last night of the three-day event.
*Fifties in February is an annual tradition for many rock 'n roll fans! Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, along with their pilot Roger Peterson, died in a plane crash shortly after their performance held at the Surf Ballroom on Feb. 3, 1959. The annual event is held the first full weekend in February to honor them and the love of music from the 1950's era. See www.surfballroom.com
